Ipad download app store slow

Perhaps some necessary ports or App Store servers are blocked from access via your router settings. In many schools and institutions, the App Store is blocked to prevent bandwidth hogs from stealing all the download bandwidth with large app downloads. In this case, you would need to give them a call to find out. This of course means slow or non-existent App Store downloads.

If the problem is affecting more than one of your devices on the network, then instead of configuring DNS settings on each and every individual device, you might want to configure custom DNS settings from the wireless router itself, as this change will affect every device that connects to it and provide better performance for everybody.

We have an in-depth tutorial explaining how to log into your wireless router and configure custom DNS settings for all devices on your network that could help you through this troubleshooting step.

In some rare scenarios, VPN software, firewall software, and anti-virus software can actually hinder your internet usage. False negatives can flag the software to block incoming and outgoing connections to the App Store, and this will certainly cause connectivity issues. On a Mac, it could be any combination of the three, but on an iOS device, all you really need to check for is an active VPN connection. A support representative can walk you through additional steps that may help get your App Store downloads sped up or working as you would expect them to.

Most problems are related to something small and stupid, and one of the steps above can point you into the right direction. If not, Apple is always around to help you.

Have you ever experienced slower than normal App Store download speeds? If so, what caused your specific problem? Also keep one thing in mind, Google's DNS might work like a charm for the majority, but might fail to deliver for some users.

In that case, you might want to opt for a different DNS service, and there are a lot out there to try out, and we're gonna jot down all of our preferred services in a neat list below.

While there are many DNS providers out there, but these are the best and most renowned ones. Keep one thing in mind, not all of the above mentioned DNS addresses will work for everyone, so you have to try them out manually one after the other till you find the right one. And if a particular DNS suits your needs and has indeed boosted your App Store download speed, then we highly recommend that you integrate these DNS addresses directly into your WiFi router for a smoother overall experience.

Restore from backup? Restore as new phone? User profile for user: diesel vdub diesel vdub. Feb 11, PM in response to diesel vdub In response to diesel vdub If a hard reset is done in itunes i did that and restored from back up, i havnt tried as new phone because i was worried i wouldnt be able to get my apps and contacts back and there is no difference between wifi and 3g and i have tried multiple wifi's.

Its getting very frustrating. If those do not work, restore as new. As long as your contacts are synced either with an exchange service or a supported app on your computer, there is no reason you will not be able to sync them back after a restore.
